Water is the basis of life, yet humans have been accustomed to forget the importance of this. With most people having constant access to running water, it tends to be wasted without even realizing. The average American uses about 80 to 100 gallons per day, and the large population makes this number even more significant. With only 2.5% of the world’s freshwater available, it has become imperative to conserve water and AquaGear provides a medium for doing so.
AquaGear is a modified filtration system that can be attached to a kitchen faucet. Along with filtering water, it comes with a new addition of a two-piece gear component. These gears contain various holes which will serve as openings for the water flow. When turned, the gears will allow for different openings to promote water flow. Considering the ease and comfort, AquaGear ensures that the force water flow is not limited, only the quantity is. This will still enable water to be freely used, but with a more conscientious effort in hopes of advocating for a positive change.
