Sprays and Showers
Spray settings allow different water flow options and this mechanism is found in most hand-held showers, where the gear on the side allows for the different water flow according to needs. When the gear is turned, the holes that are open allows for water flow. Controlling and adjusting water flow is the main goal when it comes to conserving water.

The gear were designed using the program OnShape. It has a main gear as well a cover piece with a latch that will allow for movement. However, the perfect model was an idea in progress.
1. The single hole in the center allows for steady water flow to mimic the function of a regular faucet. This hole will always remain open to keep the same feel of the flow, while restricting the amount. Because of this constant flow, it will make tasks such as filling a water bottle a breeze!
2. Similar to a shower, the ring of smaller holes around the center allows for more water flow in addition to the hole in the center.
3. The outer ring provides an even wider flow to accommodate according to needs. The position of outer ring is windowed by the inner ring so that the cover piece can allow for maximum possible settings in terms of water flow.

4. The cover piece is similar to the main piece so that the holes can match up for an opening.

5. To put it all together, the cover piece will go underneath the main gear. The larger surface area of the cover piece will prevent leakage from the sides.
